Interact
The Triangle Chapter of AWRT supports INTERACT, a shelter for
domestic violence and sexual assault. The INTERACT shelter houses
women and their children for a limited time and helps them start
a new life on their own. At each monthly luncheon, AWRT collects
items needed at the shelter. Over the past year, we have donated
paper products, children's toys, medicine, cleaning supplies
and personal products, to name a few. During the holiday season,
we adopted 3 families and bought gifts for the mom's and the
children through the generous donations of local professionals
in the broadcast industry. Happy birthday brother images included everything from toaster
ovens and bed linens to stocking stuffers and gift certificates.
Items you might not find valuable could be very useful to INTERACT.
For instance, if you travel, save all of your soaps, lotions,
shampoo, etc. from your hotel stay and donate them to INTERACT.
While INTERACT does not accept used clothing, they would welcome
items like small lamps, books, magazines, video tapes, kitchen
utensils, etc. Please make sure any items you wish to donate
are in good working order.
